    The agreement between Baghdad and Paris aims at strengthening diplomatic exchanges and developing cooperation in the field of governance and training programs specialized in combating terrorism
      The Iraqi and French governments have agreed on a strategic multi-area cooperation document between Baghdad and Paris and put in place practical mechanisms for their implementation.
    Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed al-Sahaf said the agreement comes within the framework of the two countries' keenness to push bilateral relations to a wider horizons in line with the aspirations of the two friendly peoples.

    The document aims at enforcing the main axes of bilateral cooperation at the level of political consultations, enhancing diplomatic exchanges and developing institutional cooperation in governance, military and security cooperation.

    The document also aims at developing specialized training programs in the field of combating terrorism, contributing to the development of Iraqi capabilities, establishing economic partnerships and trade exchanges.

    Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hakim met with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Laudrian in the presence of Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi on Friday in a cooperation agreement in the economic, cultural, social, military and training fields.
