Lami said the separation of the Supreme Judicial Council, the Judicial Training Institute and the State Consultative Council from the Ministry of Justice had made it a ministry empty of its core content.
Lami pointed out that the remaining departments in the Ministry of Justice can be transferred to other ministries where it is possible to transfer the real estate registration department to the Ministry of Finance and Prisons to the Ministry of Interior or the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, especially as juvenile prisons follow the latter.
It is noteworthy that the House of Representatives voted in its last parliamentary session on 23 May last to include the Judicial Institute to the Supreme Judicial Council and disengage from the Ministry of Justice, and the President of the Republic on July 17, the law and issued in the Official Gazette.
The reasons for the legislation of this law were "to link the Judicial Institute with the Supreme Judicial Council as the body responsible for the preparation and appointment of judges and public prosecutors and for the elimination of its dual administration and for the purpose of its development in order to enhance the independence of the judiciary and respect for the rule of law."
