Trump: I do not know MacGorek and his resignation is a fake
Follow - up / ... played down US President Donald Trump, the importance of the resignation of US special envoy to the International Alliance against Brett Daesh Macgork, saying: "I do not know , and his resignation before the end of his mission date, hit artificiality and try to draw attention to it."
Trump's remarks came in a tweet at his own Twitter account, commenting on McGuck's resignation after Trump announced his troop withdrawal from Syria.
"McGowork does not know him personally, and was appointed by former US President Barack Obama in 2015, his job would have ended in February, but he resigned now, is not that a fake," said Trump. "False media exaggerates this pointless issue."
"If President Gerry announced the withdrawal of US forces from Syria after a humiliating defeat, he would become the most popular hero in America, but the false media attack me harshly because I am the one who announced the withdrawal of troops from this country," Trump said. "He said.
On Saturday, US President George W. Bush's envoy to the international coalition, Brett McGuck, resigned from his post to protest against Trump's decision to withdraw his troops from Syria.
This came in statements made by a source familiar with the resignation, not named because he is not authorized to talk to the media, told the "Associated Press" America.
The source pointed out that McGork submitted his resignation to Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo, on Friday.
MacGorek's resignation comes two days after Defense Secretary James Matisse resigned for the same reasons.
McGowork had previously announced his intention to leave office in February 2019. But the Associated Press reported that he had decided to speed up his plans to leave office at the end of December to protest the decision to withdraw US troops from Syria.
Trump announced on Wednesday evening that he had decided to withdraw his country's troops completely from Syria after he said that it had defeated the "Daash" organization in Syria.
