Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammad Halboussi on Tuesday condemned the criminal bombing of a popular market in the district of Tal Afar in Nineveh province, while reiterating that repeated violations in the liberated areas call for an urgent review of the security plans.
"We condemn the criminal blasphemy that took place in Tal Afar district on Tuesday," Halabousi said in a statement. "Repeated security violations in the liberated areas call for an urgent review of the plans and contexts adopted to maintain security in those areas."
He stressed, "the need for the security forces to make more efforts in the security and intelligence, through the development of new plans, and increase the potential of the security forces; to follow the cells of the organization calling the terrorist."
He called for "uncovering the causes of these violations and cutting off the road to all those who lie in the social cohesion of these areas and disturb the civil peace."
A security source, Mawazin News, reported Tuesday that 15 civilians were killed and wounded by a car bomb explosion in the center of Tall Afar district in Nineveh governorate.
The source said that a suicide car bomb exploded at noon today targeting a popular market in Tal Afar district in Nineveh province.
