The Syrian Ports Administration announced the return of the ports of Lattakia, Tartous and the port of the oil estuary in Banias to work, following its closure last Sunday against navigation due to prevailing climatic conditions.
The Syrian ports said in a statement that "after the decline of the sea storm that took control of the region during the past days, characterized by strong winds and rising waves, it was decided to re-work in the ports mentioned."
The port manager Brigadier Akram Ibrahim said: "The return of maritime navigation to the ports of Latakia and Tartous and port of the oil estuary in Banias after the decline of the effectiveness of the low air and the decline of wind speed."
He added that "there were no losses due to the storm, because of precautionary measures taken by the Directorate in advance."
