The Yemeni government on Thursday called on its Iraqi counterpart to make a statement on the remarks made by Akram al-Kaabi, the leader of the pro-Iranian armed group "Al-Najba", on his support of the Huthis.

Minister of Water and Environment of Yemen Dr. Uzi Shreim said in a press statement today that "we have a longstanding relationship with the Iraqi people for decades, but that this (Kaabi) is trying to find a partnership for the Iraqis in the killing of the Yemeni people, about that".

"Rather, al-Kaabi would liberate his country, which lives under the tutelage of Iran, which turned them into a group of mercenaries free of charge, spread chaos and terrorism and drained its economy before declaring its willingness to send terrorists to our country."

The Secretary-General of the movement "Najba" Iraqi Akram al-Kaabi announced in remarks quoted by the newspaper "Etsalat" Iranian Monday, his readiness to support the Houthis fighters and weapons.
