Washington demands that Baghdad pay for its military presence

The United States is trying to get the Iraqi government to pay for its presence in Mesopotamia, in line with US President Donald Trump's strategy of reducing military spending in the Middle East.
According to the Lebanese newspaper "Al-Akhbar", an adviser to the Iraqi Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, submitted a plan submitted by a commander of US forces in Iraq, stating that the federal budget must include a clause to cover the costs of the American presence, claiming that "Washington provided a lot of services to the people Iraqi, in the framework of the international coalition against a supporter. "
The adviser, in his report, according to the newspaper that "the United States plans to increase its military presence in Iraq at the expense of the Iraqi government," under the pretext of the inability of the latter to maintain security in the country.

Thanks Rocky, much appreciate your wide and diverse postings.  My thoughts on Iraq are _(&&*()__ - why should this country continue to CRY POOR US, when they are sitting on oil, gold, diamonds, and other wealth in the ground.  Let them start paying for services from all sources that they need to increase the economy and living conditions of their people plus the protection from those who would continue to seek to destroy their heritage and land.  Same as with NATO another joke organization which should have been realigned years ago.  At least NATO members are now paying up - I am sick and tired of taking care of other nations when we can't take care of our own.

So I wonder how Iraq can pay for US presence with the value of the dinar so low???  Budget is 109 billion dinar.  Sounds a lot but in US dollars not really.  US presence costs will be huge.
