The largest military alliance to boost its presence in Iraq

French Defense Minister Florence Barley expressed her satisfaction at the US decision to withdraw "gradually" from Syria, stressing that the international coalition could carry out operations against extremist groups from Iraq if needed.
The statement coincides with another former US President Donald Trump, who stressed that it was possible to move quickly from Iraq to carry out missions in Syria.
Trump, who announced in a surprise decision his intention to withdraw US troops from Syria, pointing out that the organization calling for the terrorist defeat.
But the US president retreated from the pressure under internal pressure and fears of partners in the international coalition, announcing a gradual withdrawal without announcing the timetable for the withdrawal of US troops.
"A very large part of this coalition and even the largest in Iraq, which allows to do several things first support the training of the Iraqi armed forces, which deal with itself to terrorism and the possibility of re-intervention in Syria, but on terms."
French President Emmanuel Macaron confirmed that France will remain "military participation in the international coalition in the Levant" in 2019.
France, which has seen attacks adopted by an organization calling for the deployment of 1200 soldiers in the coalition to participate in air operations and special forces in Syria and training the Iraqi army.
The administration sought to reassure the Allies, but it provoked outrage, criticism and controversy in Iraq, which was accompanied by Trump's previous visit to the air base of Ain al-Assad has never made clear signs of strengthening the US military presence in the Iraqi arena.
"If we believe all the recent US statements, we are headed for a gradual and very consistent withdrawal," Barley said on France's political program, Radio France Inter, Le Monde and France TV.
"It is very good news if things continue in this direction," she said, reiterating that the battle against the terrorist organization was "not over."
In December 2018, US President Donald Trump surprised the allies by announcing the imminent withdrawal of the 2,000 American military personnel deployed in Syria to fight the jihadists. He stressed that this will be "at a consistent pace."
"The second thing we have done to the American partners is to insist on giving the Kurds security guarantees."
"Protecting the Kurds is a necessity that is now clearly taken into consideration by American allies," she said.
She said the international coalition against the American-led terrorist organization would also be able to operate from Iraq after completing the withdrawal from Syria.
"We are partners in the coalition and we will stay that way, this coalition will not withdraw from the region and will remain in Iraq," he said.
