"People living in the border areas to ensure living and earning money have begun smuggling bread as well as oil and red meat," said Ahmed Ali Kekha, head of the Agriculture Committee of the Iranian parliament.
"Iran has started to smuggle oil and red meat, as well as bread, to make money for citizens living in those border areas," MP Kja told Iran's state newspaper Iran Times.
"We have seen the fact that oil in Iran is cheaper than neighboring countries. We are seeing the public start smuggling oil and red meat as well as smuggling bread to alleviate livelihoods," he said, noting that the Sistan and Balochistan border provinces with Pakistan draw attention to the economic situation of the region's population To provide bread for bread baked in the house, and smuggled out of the country by illegal means to sell in neighboring countries.
"People in Sistan and Baluchistan province have taken this route because of the lack of livelihood. The authorities should pay attention to the situation," he said, noting that "the people of our province are poor, drought-stricken and have many problems managing their lives."
