    The forty-first meeting of the unified tariff committee of the League of Arab States (LAS) started today in Cairo to complete the negotiation of the unification of the Arab customs tariff. 
    According to the Saudi Press Agency SPA, the director of the Department of Economic Integration of the Arab League, Bahjat Abul-Nasr, said that the meeting will discuss for four days the completion of the negotiation of the unification of the Arab customs tariff, with the aim of setting the applicable fees and installed in the world trade area within the tariff. 
    He added that this is in the light of observations from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain, Tunisia, Sudan, Oman, Palestine, Kuwait, Morocco, Lebanon and Qatar.
    He added that "Abu Al-Nasr", that one of the most important elements of the establishment of the Arab Customs Union set a unified customs tariff, noting that this requires a set of steps, first of which the unification of national tariffs and names among Arab countries, and the establishment of a database with the Secretariat of the League and Arab States, By tariff. 
    He pointed out that there are claims for countries that have large differences in the minimum and maximum tariff for equality or convergence in the levels applied in other countries, because such things facilitate access to the unified tariff to deal with the outside world as a single customs area.
    He added that the Arab League has concluded the drafting of the unified Arab customs law, the customs procedures manual and the explanatory list of the law, and conducting special studies on the mechanism of distributing customs proceeds to protect the national industry and supporting the existing industries. 
    The Director of the Department of Economic Integration in the Arab League noted that the tariff between the Arab countries within the Free Trade Area is zero now since January 2005. 
    He explained that the customs union phase needs a unified customs tariff to deal with the outside world to represent a unified customs fence, At the moment
