Trump "awards the Medal of Honor to an American soldier in recognition of his courage during his service in Iraq
In a ceremony at the White House on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump awarded the Medal of Honor to an American soldier in recognition of his courage during his service in Iraq.
President Trump, former sergeant David Blavia, was awarded the Army's highest military honor after showing "extraordinary courage" in rescuing his unit during the second battle in Falluja , which was severely damaged.
Sergeant Kam was on a mission to evacuate buildings in Falluja when he and his soldiers were fired at. He used his M-249 submachine gun to provide a cover for his colleagues, exposing his life to danger and saving their lives.
He joined the army in 1999 and served in Kosovo before going to Fallujain 2004 and then leaving the service in 2005. He is now involved in a daily radio program in New York.
