The Ministry of Agriculture issued eight decisions on supporting agricultural and livestock production in order to achieve self-sufficiency.
"The Minister of Agriculture Saleh al-Hassani presides over the periodic meeting of the opinion body in the ministry and in the presence of the administrative agent of the ministry and inspector general and adviser to the ministry for livestock affairs, in addition to the ministry adviser as well as the general directors of the departments and companies of the ministry" .
Al-Hassani said, "At the beginning of the meeting, the importance of follow-up paragraphs of the government program specified time frames are applicable," recalling "the great achievements of the ministry in the first half of the year implementation of the program, which was characterized by self-sufficiency of vegetable crops and 16 local agricultural crops, To achieve food security of the wheat crop with the continuation of the receipt, in addition to the significant increases in the production of barley barley.
He called for "concerted efforts to reach good levels of agricultural production in order to achieve self-sufficiency."
The ministry added that "the meeting discussed the paragraphs on its agenda and took the appropriate decisions, including the approval of the formation of a palm and date center for the rehabilitation of palm trees and increase productivity because the palm represents the identity of Iraq, and got approval to develop veterinary clinics in the province of Salah al-Din As well as the possibility of obtaining the approval of the appointment of a number of veterinarians to the urgent need, and got approval to the Veterinary Department to develop a division to register veterinary medicines and vaccines and feed additives.
The ministry said that "the opinion committee agreed to the request of the Agricultural Land Department to develop the Agricultural Investment Division to organize investment affairs and link with the headquarters of the Department in order to reach the optimal investment of agricultural land, and due to interest in livestock."
The committee also approved the formation of a committee to consider the distribution and increase of feed from barley and maize as a result of local availability, as well as increasing the support of soybeans for animal breeders as well as lowering their prices. "He said.
The ministry said that the new mechanism for the sale of domestic and textile plants and mothers was approved in the stations and nurseries of the Department of Horticulture in line with the directives of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers on streamlining administrative procedures for citizens.
She stressed that "the meeting concluded by referring the many paragraphs to specialized committees for consideration and take the necessary action on them to serve the agricultural process."
