[size=18]Basra MP Abdul Aoun al-Abadi said on Thursday that the services offered in the province are not commensurate with the increase in the population, pointing to the lack of a valid database.

Abadi said in a press conference held inside the parliament building and attended by Alsumaria News, that "there is no valid database within the province of Basra and other Iraqi provinces."

Abadi said that "the population of the province amounted to 4 million people," explaining that "the services provided to Basra province of 2.5 million people and not for 4 million."

He added that "all medical, health and municipal services, agriculture, electricity, education, water, roads, bridges and other services are not commensurate with the increasing population in Basra."

Abadi called on the Ministry of Planning to "conduct a census of my life and a population census so that the strategic projects of the province of Basra and improve the service reality in it."
