Trump warns Iran of something "very serious and admits: invading Iraq is a catastrophic mistake
Asked about his quest to meet Rouhani, Trump said: "I am not seeking any meeting with the Iranian president at the UN General Assembly."
"We will see what happens," Trump told reporters at the White House when asked if the United States could ease the "extreme pressure" campaign against Iran.
He stressed at the same time that his country's invasion of Iraq was a serious mistake.
This came after, announced Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, according to state television reported on Wednesday, that his country will continue to reduce its nuclear obligations when necessary.
Rouhani also urged America to stop exerting maximum pressure and end hostile policies.
Earlier in the day, Iran's ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency said Iran would enrich uranium for research and development "to the extent that the country really needs."
