    Baghdad provincial council stressed on Thursday the need for the Ministry of Electricity to know the opinion of the citizen with regard to privatization companies, stressing that the citizen was affected because of these companies as a result of paying the amounts of privatization and to the owners of generators at the same time.
    Hassoun al-Rubaie, a member of the provincial council, said in a statement that "the privatization experience in Baghdad did not meet the aspirations of the citizen as required. The privatization companies announced their ability to provide 18 hours of energy to the areas where they invested inside Baghdad."
    Al-Rubaie added, “The agreement was made with the privatization companies to provide electricity to some areas in addition to carrying out maintenance operations, but they did not perform their role in the required manner with regard to maintenance work, as they receive maintenance fees from the Ministry of Electricity despite the profits obtained from the collection.     He explained that "the arrival of the Ministry of Electricity to produce 19 thousand megawatts, made it indicates the possibility of providing the capital with 22 hours of energy by the end of this year," pointing out that "the citizen was affected by privatization companies because of the payment of electricity wages to those companies in addition to the payment of sums Other generators, because these companies could not provide electricity for 24 hours. ”
