Committee member Alia Nassif said in a statement to Al-Maaloumeh that a number of members of the Supreme Council for Combating Corruption are accused of involvement in suspicions of corruption and passing some files without disclosing them, as well as exploiting the position for personal purposes. Civil society organizations behave as a member of the Council and are against the law. ”
She added that "Abdul Mahdi put in the Anti-Corruption Council inefficient figures, as well as the involvement of some members of the Council on suspicion of corruption during previous governments," noting that "the tools used by the Supreme Council against Corruption are incorrect and must be reviewed."
She explained that "the House of Representatives will work to abolish the Council and refer its functions to the Commission on Integrity and Supervisory circles as a redundant and founded illegally and invalid," explaining that "the work of the Council is similar to the work of the offices of public inspectors who work to blackmail ministers and cover up corruption files."
