    President Barham Saleh met with French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
    President Saleh stressed, according to a presidential statement, "Iraq's desire to build fruitful and wide relations with France in various fields, and expand the horizons of cooperation and joint coordination and to serve the mutual interests of the two friendly countries."
    The President and the French President discussed "developments in the regional and international situation and the need to adopt dialogues and understandings to resolve all outstanding problems between all parties in order for peace and stability to prevail in the region."

    BAGHDAD -
    The President of the Republic, Barham Saleh, on Tuesday, Iraq's desire to build broad relations with France.
    "President Barham Salih met with French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York," a statement from his office said in a statement.
    The statement added that "the presidents of the Iraqi and French Republic discussed developments in the regional and international situation, and the need to adopt dialogues and understandings to resolve all outstanding problems between all parties in order to prevail peace and stability in the region."
    The President stressed: "Iraq's desire to build fruitful and wide relations with France in various fields, and expand the horizons of cooperation and joint coordination and to serve the mutual interests of the two friendly countries."
