Iranian President Hassan Rouhani strongly criticized the recent statement issued by the three European countries and made baseless accusations against Iran, stressing the need for these countries to fulfill their obligations under the nuclear deal as members.
During his meeting with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson at the Iranian delegation's residence in New York on the sidelines of the 74th UN General Assembly, President Rouhani expressed his deep regret over the recent statement by the three European countries that are at the same time members of the nuclear deal. Such a baseless statement in these complex and delicate circumstances is not constructive and useful in any way.
In a statement, Britain, Germany and France accused Iran of involvement in the attacks on Saudi Aramco's facilities, even before the investigation was completed.
The Iranian president criticized London's failure to implement its commitments to benefit Iran from the economic benefits of the nuclear agreement, and considered providing a positive economic climate among the obligations of the nuclear agreement, calling on them to implement their obligations, including the mechanism of Instex quickly.
In his speech, President Rouhani referred to the project of hope or the Hormuz peace initiative, which is scheduled to be presented during his speech at the UN General Assembly. Britain is influential in achieving this goal.
For his part, the British Prime Minister said during the meeting that London is seeking to improve relations with Tehran and said that his country was and will continue to support the nuclear deal and has made great efforts to persuade America not to get out of the agreement, but unfortunately will not succeed in that.
