[size=18]Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, on Thursday, telephoned British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, assuring him that "the United States will receive a more serious response if it makes another mistake."

The Iranian news agency "ISNA" quoted the Iranian president as saying, during a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, that "if America makes another mistake, it will receive a very serious response."

"The main reason for the recent insecurity is the illegal withdrawal of the United States from the nuclear agreement. They imposed sanctions on food and medicine for two years and committed a major crime by assassinating Soleimani," Rouhani added.

Rouhani stressed that "Tehran remains committed to its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency and the agency will continue to monitor Iran's nuclear activities as before."

Tensions between Washington and Tehran escalated after the Pentagon announced an air strike near Baghdad International Airport, killing the commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Qassem Soleimani, in addition to Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy head of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Authority, and others, While Iran responded with missile strikes targeting American military bases in Iraq.
