    A member of the Foreign Relations Committee, Hassan Chuird rapprochement between Baghdad and Riyadh would enhance the economic strength and security to Iraq through the Gulf Cooperation with the country.

    Said Chuird Tuesday that "rapprochement between Iraq and Saudi Arabia did not get far officially, but there are efforts to move in this direction."

    He added that "Iraq today is the head of the League of Arab States and the President of the Summit therefore needs to have an openness to all Arab countries and regional narrow but something which is not allowed to intervene in the internal affairs".

    The Chuird said that "the first episode toward improving relations need to be formally between Iraq and Saudi Arabia through the opening two special committees to things Halhh and problems between them."

    He said "we have charge d'affaires in Saudi Arabia and this is something positive towards openness and we have also cooperation between the Iraqi Minister of Justice and Minister of Justice Saudi on finding agreement for the exchange of political prisoners and defendants claims."

    He Chuird by saying that "if there is convergence between Iraq and Saudi Arabia officially it will generate an economic power and security of the country because Saudi Arabia Country senior economist and has strong relationships with the rest of the world thus these relations will serve the Iraqi people in general."

    The Iraqi-Saudi relations have witnessed a movement in the recent period, observers believe it is a prelude to positive developments aimed at breaking the ice between the two countries.

    And here it is in black and white.... in other words, as long as Saudi Arabia is happy with what Iraq is doing they will fund less insurgency...
