Parliamentary human rights are concerned about the increasing number of assassinations of activists and of the demonstrators
The Parliamentary Human Rights Committee expressed its grave concern over the increasing number of kidnapping of activists and assassinations of demonstrators.
The committee said in a statement that while we appeal to the government to provide protection for peaceful demonstrators and respect for human rights principles in Iraq through the expression of opinion and peaceful demonstration guaranteed by Article (38) of the Iraqi constitution. We express our grave concern over the increasing number of kidnappings of activists and assassinations of demonstrators.
The Committee called on the government to disclose the fate of these abductees, reduce the crimes of assassinations, provide protection by the security forces for peaceful demonstrators, and conduct investigations regarding these inhuman crimes, in addition to the need to prosecute the perpetrators and bring them to justice and reduce the recurrence of security insecurity in providing security for the demonstrators demanding their legitimate rights.
