The High Commission for Human Rights in Iraq called on the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces to oblige the security services in the Ministry of Interior and the National Security and Intelligence Services and other competent bodies to take the necessary measures to stop the kidnapping, which targeted activists and media professionals and a number of lawyers and the disclosure of unknown parties. It carries out a challenge to "state power and law."
The High Commissioner for Human Rights stressed that the relevant security services should assume their responsibilities and carry out their duties to investigate, uncover the fate of the abducted persons, release them immediately and refer the perpetrators to justice so that they may receive their just penalty for committing a flagrant violation of citizens' rights to security, safety and the right to life.
