    BAGHDAD - Mawazine News
The German army said in a message, on Saturday, that the United States and its allies temporarily stopped training Iraqi forces as a result of the increasing threat faced by these countries after a US air strike in Baghdad on Friday, killing Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force, with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
A senior German officer said in a letter to German deputies that the American Lieutenant-General Pat White decided to increase the level of protection for the forces deployed in Iraq within the process of the solid determination he leads.
"Therefore, the training of the Iraqi security and armed forces throughout Iraq has been suspended temporarily," Lieutenant-General German Weichfer Pfeiffer said in the letter addressed to members of the Defense and Foreign Relations Commissions of January 3.
He added, "The guidance is binding on all partner countries in the process of solid determination in the training sites in Iraq."
Germany is deploying about 120 soldiers in Iraq as part of the US-led Operation Solid Torque. Ended 29/43
