    On Saturday, the MP from the al-Hikma Movement, Hassan al-Masoudi, said that Prime Minister [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] tried to persuade the Kurds about ending the American presence in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] , pointing out that it was very difficult for Abdul-Mahdi to change the Kurds view on foreign presence in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] .
    Al-Masoudi said in a televised statement, followed by (The Information), that "Abdul-Mahdi is expected to hold talks to persuade the rest of the partners regarding the decision regarding the strategic relationship with Washington."
    He added that "Abdul-Mahdi wanted to convince the Kurdish partners of the need to deal with the foreign presence on Iraqi soil," pointing out that "among the discussions of Abdul-Mahdi in Kurdistan, the issue of ending the caretaker government and moving to a fully-empowered government."
