Al-Khaldi: Controversial candidates put forward a "mercy bullet" for the political process
The head of the "Bayrak Al-Khair" parliamentary bloc called MP Mohammed Al-Khalidi, President of the Republic Barham Saleh, to end the controversy and contain the crisis and assign a consensual candidate to take over as prime minister, stressing that the presentation of controversial or weak candidates or supported by foreign or partisan agendas, means "firing a bullet of mercy" On the political process.
Al-Khaldi said in a press statement: "Iraq in its entirety today, politically, socially and economically, is at a crossroads, and the development of events makes us bound by rapid measures that contain the crisis in an optimal way."
He added: "The President of the Republic, in his capacity as the protector of the constitution, is required to end the controversy, contain the crisis, and go immediately to appoint a non-controversial and consensual candidate who will extract the political process from its dangerous situation."
