A member of the dissolved Basra Provincial Council, Karim al-Shawak, revealed that he is waiting to reveal the corruption files at the present time, attributing the reason that opening the files of corruption at the present time is useless in light of the growing corruption whales within government institutions, he said.
Council member Al-Shwak said in a statement to “Al-Ahed News” today, Monday, that “corruption files inside the governorate are large and dangerous, and opening them at the present sustenance is useless.”
He added that "there are files in the possession of honorable people waiting for the appropriate time to be presented to the supervisory authorities and public opinion to see the extent of corruption within the province," noting that "corruption in the whole country and Basra in particular has become a tightening of the noses."
