    (Baghdad: Afrat News) Today, Saturday, the Ministry of Agriculture announced tightening measures to prevent the entry of smuggled products that are prohibited from import in support of the local product.

    In a statement, the Euphrates News received a copy of it, the ministry stated that it "tightened measures to prevent the entry of agricultural materials prohibited from importing and smuggled products, and in cooperation with the security authorities, in support of the local product and at various border crossings and government controls and the entrances to the capital, Baghdad."  
    It indicated that "large quantities of chickens and various vegetable crops were seized and destroyed, in various border outlets and controls, in order to implement the instructions and directives that stipulate the protection of the local product, and in cooperation with the support ministries, security agencies and the heroic armed forces of various kinds, to dry up the sources of smuggling, and to reduce dumping." Commodities, especially after the increase in production rates achieved despite the embargo and the Corona pandemic.  
    The ministry stated, "The entry of (1570) chickens was prevented due to the absence of a medical examination certificate, and this is within the control of the people, and legal measures have been taken regarding the matter."  
    Agriculture indicated that "the heroic security forces managed to seize and destroy (5) tons of vegetable crops that are prohibited from import in Diyala Governorate within the Khanaqin district, and the truck was loaded with tomato crops, which were hidden with other crops in order to mislead the security authorities."  
    She pointed out to "the continuation of actions aimed at preventing smuggling and entry of agricultural products prohibited from import, to support the local product, achieve appropriate economic viability for farmers and poultry farmers and support the national economy."
