BAGHDAD - Mawazine News, the
head of the Najaf Investment Commission, Al-Ashraf Dergham Kiko, announced, on Thursday, that the judiciary had responded to a lawsuit filed against the investment company based on the Najaf Cemetery Model Project.
According to the official agency, Kiko said, "The judiciary rejected the lawsuit against Adeem Al-Ardh Company, which is based on the Najaf Model Cemetery project, allowing it to practice its work after receiving a temporary suspension notice due to a lawsuit filed against it and accusing it of engaging in illegal work."
Kiko added, "The judicial order was issued by the competent court after a thorough study of the official books, attachments and transactions related to the company's work, which was confirmed to it that the company's procedures are fundamental and legal based on the provisions of Investment Law No. 13 of 2006 and the instructions and regulations issued pursuant to it and the company’s full compliance with the instructions issued by General Secretariat for the Council of Ministers".
"The company can now, after the issuance of the court order in its favor, to return and allow it to sell the land plots for burial inside the modern Najaf Model Cemetery project to citizens, according to the feasibility presented by it to the Investment Authority," Kiko indicated.
It is noteworthy that a number of lawyers in the province of Najaf have filed several lawsuits with the Iraqi judiciary against the Adeem Land Company invested in the Najaf Model Cemetery project, accusing it of committing several legal violations and wasting public money, which led the judiciary to suspend the company's work pending consideration of the charges against it.
