Al-Rikabi added that "the state of law is impossible to remain outside the arc in the political map, and that the last-minute negotiations may have big surprises," explaining that "Al-Maliki does not aspire to prime minister, but if that is in the interest of the country, there is nothing wrong."
Regarding Al-Maliki’s relationship with the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada Al-Sadr, Al-Rikabi said, "There is no enmity between Al-Sadr and Al-Maliki.
Al-Rikabi favored the possibility of postponing the elections, according to a scenario he talked about, saying: "The provincial councils have submitted a complaint to the Federal Court about the decision to dissolve it, and it is possible that the court accepts this complaint and the councils are returned, and in the event of their return, the Commission will decide to hold parliamentary elections and local governments at the same time, but on a date."
