Salih Muhammad al-Iraqi, Minister of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, confirmed that the latter "will not return Iraq to consensus, whatever the results."
Al-Iraqi stated: To complement the reasons that called for the Sadrist movement to withdraw from the political process, “there is a covenant between our leader and God, and that the covenant was responsible - not to put his hands in the hands of any corrupt and Iraq will not return to consensus, whatever the results.”
Al-Sadr’s minister described his leader’s withdrawal as “the withdrawal of the victorious,” and God hears and sees while he is in the highest view. Oh God, accept this sacrifice from us,” adding that “withdrawal is a moral aspect, as he has abandoned the world for the sake of obedience to God and love of the homeland.”
He pointed out that "may the withdrawal be a lesson for others not to cling to money," considering that the step of withdrawal "is to save the country, and it was necessary before God and the people .. Is anyone preaching?"
He considered that the withdrawal “is a denunciation and retirement of corruption and the people of corruption,” pointing out that “the withdrawal will reveal the truth of those claiming to defend the sect, so you see what they are doing in the absence of a popular class that is the most courageous in resisting the occupation and the war of terrorism and the closest to the hearts of the people and the fair.”
"We will not share them, no matter what," he stressed.
The leader of the Sadrist movement revealed other reasons behind his withdrawal from the political process.
Salih Muhammad al-Iraqi Wizar, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, said in a statement issued by the Rudaw Media Network, a copy of which was received on Friday (1 July 2022): "What are the reasons that prompted al-Sadr, the leader, to withdraw from the political process, and what are the results against the opponents?"
Al-Iraqi mentioned some of them, considering that “most of the Shiite political blocs belonged to (Lal al-Sadr), if not all of them, so we offered them a candidate for prime minister, the son of their reference and their martyr, and they rejected him.”
Al-Sadr’s minister accused some politicians of “betraying Al-Sadr, and subserving others,” adding that “some people imagine that the decision to withdraw is to hand Iraq over to the corrupt and consensual, no.
He justified the Sadrist bloc's return to the elections after its withdrawal, stating that "it was for two important things: the first: normalization, and this has been criminalized, praise be to God.. the second: the criminalization of obscenity: (homosexuals). Let's see what they do?!" Will they pass a new and detailed law, especially with the escalation of Western colonial pressures against its opponents?
One of the reasons mentioned by Al-Iraqi was “the embarrassment of the opponents of those who protested against the elections because they are fraudulent, so will they continue to form a government out of fraudulent elections? What is its legitimacy? Will they agree with the normalizers and the Emiratis? Will the missiles hit Anbar and Erbil?
