     The Ministry of Immigration and Displacement succeeded in closing (90%) a camp for the displaced, all over Iraq, out of (174) camps, and returning (577) thousand displaced families to their original areas of residence. 
    This comes after the Iraqi government has paid special attention to the file of the displaced, helping them to return voluntarily to their homes, completely ending the internal displacement problem, and continuing to provide grants, financial and in-kind assistance, and providing soft loans to provide job opportunities for the returnees. 

    The Ministry of Immigration and Displacement worked in accordance with the plan it drew for the second half of the year 2020, to provide all capabilities for the return of the displaced and to close the displacement file, in coordination with the efforts of the ministries, official institutions and the concerned governorates, in addition to the efforts of donor countries and international and local organizations, to completely close many camps. 
    During the last six months of last year, the Ministry closed (90%) of the camps throughout Iraq, which contributed to the repatriation of (66,671) families from the governorates of Salah al-Din, Nineveh, and Diyala, as well as the return of about a thousand displaced citizens from Iran, Turkey and Europe. 
    The number of remaining camps in the country is (28) camps, which will be closed this year as part of the national plan for the return of displaced persons, launched by the ministry and approved by the Council of Ministers.


     With regard to the file of providing grants and relief and humanitarian aid to the displaced and returnees, the Ministry has distributed (3 million and 710 thousand) different shares of food, health, household and kitchen baskets, mattresses, blankets, etc., and distributed financial grants to the returnees in the amount of one and a half million dinars to (11724) families And supporting the IDP camps with an amount of (150) million dinars to maintain and operate generators, and an amount of (2) two billion dinars was disbursed to the returnees in order to encourage the displaced to return voluntarily, while the total relief aid provided to the care groups amounted to (4 million and 200 thousand) different shares during In 2020, with the distribution of (300) apartments in the Missan complex for displaced families in Maysan Governorate, the distribution and installation of (491) caravans to accommodate the displaced and returnee families whose homes have been destroyed, and the restoration of more than (3000) homes in the governorates of Nineveh and Anbar in coordination with the International Organization for Migration, and Distributing (95) income-generating projects for familiesThe return. 
    On the issue of restoring the stabilization effort and rehabilitating the liberated areas, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers sponsored a number of conferences and encounters, through closed-circuit television, with donor countries and international organizations, after the work of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) was extended until 2023. Developing a plan to restore the stabilization effort in the liberated areas, especially the rehabilitation of infrastructure and the provision of basic services for the health, education and education sectors, and the rehabilitation of homes destroyed by terrorist operations and military operations, to ensure the provision of safe voluntary return for the displaced.
     The plan of the Ministry of Displacement and Migration also paid special attention to the issue of women. The financial grants included (4343) families returning from displacement headed by women, at a rate of one and a half million dinars for each family, in addition to distributing more than a hundred thousand rations of relief materials to families headed by women, in addition to the inclusion of displaced families patients with treatment inside and outside Iraq in coordination with Ministry of Health and inclusion of (2000) families with social protection network subsidies, in coordination with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

    With regard to the file of support for the displaced outside the country, the Supreme Committee for National Health and Safety issued a decision requiring the Iraqi government to bear the costs of returning competencies from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and sending joint committees from ministries to prove the care of Iraqis abroad who do not possess documents and evidentiary documents, and obtain the approval of the Ministry of Labor And social affairs to provide operational loans to returnees from European Union countries, as well as to organize free trips to return Iraqis from Syria and Turkey.
