A statement of the Commission stated that the Euphrates News Agency received a copy of it, “The Election Commission is following up all the political and popular reactions related to the upcoming event of the elections, including the requests it received to extend the period for updating the voter register. For the period from January 2, 2021 until April 15, to provide the opportunity to register the largest possible number of voters, and that this period for updating the voter register is the longest period compared to previous electoral entitlements, and it is important here to also clarify that the commission has a timetable All its clauses must be implemented up to the day of the general poll, and among these tasks related to updating the voter register:
A - The process of interrupting the data of registered voters for fear of repeated registration
B - Sending the data to the company responsible for printing the voter card.
C- Receiving cards centrally and distributing them to the offices of the governorates.
D- Conducting an examination and distributing the voter card to the voters.
E - Paying voters to polling stations and centers and thus knowing the final numbers on the basis of which the contracting for logistical materials for the materials of the polling center and station will be made.

The statement pointed out that “and for all of the above, extending the period of updating the voter register contradicts the timetable of the Operations Department, while unifying the periods of both receiving candidate lists and registering political alliances until May 1 was a last opportunity for parties wishing to participate in the process. The electoral system, especially the new ones, to complete the nomination procedures, taking advantage of this date. "
The Elections Commission stressed, "The date of October 10 is an inevitable date that everyone must adhere to and respect, and at the time when the commission announces its full readiness to hold the elections on the scheduled date, we are looking forward to a wide popular participation in this event, so that these elections will express the aspirations of the Iraqis." About change and their selection of representatives to represent them in the next parliamentary session. "
