    {Politics: Al Furat News} President of the Republic, Barham Salih stressed, on Wednesday, the need for concerted efforts to combat terrorism and ease tensions in the region

    The media office of the President of the Republic said in a statement that the Euphrates News received a copy of it, that "the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, the Russian ambassador to Iraq, Maxim Maximov, on the occasion of the end of his duties, and the meeting discussed bilateral relations that bring the two countries together and ways to strengthen and expand horizons Cooperation and joint action in various fields in a way that serves the mutual interests of the two countries. Regional and international developments of common interest were also reviewed. The commitment to dialogue to enhance regional security and peace was emphasized.
    The President of the Republic stressed "the need for concerted regional and international efforts to combat terrorism, and to reduce tensions that negatively affect the opportunities for development and prosperity for the peoples of the region, and the importance of joint action and overcoming outstanding issues and for Iraq to be a pivot in promoting security and stability."
    President Saleh praised "the ambassador's efforts during his tenure in Iraq to develop relations between the two countries, wishing him success in his future duties, while the Russian ambassador renewed his country's support for Iraq's stability and the enhancement of its sovereignty, and the desire to strengthen ties in all fields."
