    The Judicial Institute concluded today, Thursday, 10/6/2021, the work of the national workshop on strengthening the application of international human rights standards in the Arab judicial systems in the Middle East and North Africa, in cooperation with the Raoul Wallenberg Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law.
    The correspondent of the Media Center of the Supreme Judicial Council stated that “the workshop was attended by a member of the Federal Court, Judge Dr. Haider Ali Nouri and Mr. Jassim Muhammad Kazem, the judge of the New Baghdad Investigation Court, as well as the retired judge, Mr. Iyad Al-Jazaery,” noting that “the workshop was attended by 22 students from the Judicial Institute for the first stage of the 43rd session.”
    He added that "the workshop included several topics related to the basic concepts related to international conventions and a summary of the most important international conventions ratified by Iraq. Legislative harmonization between these conventions and national legislation was also discussed."
    The reporter pointed out that "the workshop was attended by the head of Karkh appeal, Judge Khaled Taha Ahmed, as (the critical friend), according to the context followed by the Raoul Institute in order to evaluate the workshop."
    During the past weeks, the Judicial Institute hosted three workshops, the first of which witnessed the attendance of trainees from students of the Judicial Institute, which included interventions and discussions between the lecturers and the trainee students about the themes that were raised in addition to an explanation of the methods of the curricula presented in them, and the second was attended by the judges nominated by the presidency of the Federal Court of Appeal of Rusafa. And the presidency of the Baghdad Federal Court of Appeal, Karkh, and the third for members of the Public Prosecution.”[/size]
