Today, Wednesday, economic expert Safwan Qusay confirmed that the threat of a large international company such as BP to withdraw from Iraq greatly affects the reputation of Iraqi oil in the global market, noting that if this threat is realized, it will greatly affect the flow of Iraqi oil globally.
Qusay explained to (Basenews), that "the Iraqi Oil Ministry is required to overcome any problems that may face such a giant company, especially since the presence of (British Petroleum) offers reassurance and confidence that Iraqi oil flows will continue at least in the next century."
Noting that «some parties in Iraq may be tightening the screws on large international companies because they refuse to pay commissions or (royalties) to them, and therefore there must be quick and transparent treatments for such cases».

A report by "Oil Price" stated that the real reason behind the withdrawal of international oil companies such as "British Petroleum" and "ExxonMobil" from Iraq is not to restructure their economic plans, but rather the extent of rampant corruption in the country.
The site added that the massive embezzlement, procurement fraud, money laundering, oil smuggling and bureaucratic bribery spread in Iraq pushed it to the bottom of the ratings of international financial institutions, and pointed out that partisan sectarianism, politicization of corruption and insecurity are all factors that impeded effective state building and service delivery.
The website pointed out that Iraq lost more than 14 billion US dollars in compensation to oil companies due to contracts concluded between 2011 and 2014 that were not adhered to, and the oil licensing rounds failed to achieve their goals, explaining that Iraq pays compensation for each barrel of oil 1.7 dollars.
The report pointed out that international oil companies found many obstacles in Iraq due to the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum incursion into the oil and gas industry in Iraq and the recent increase in the shares of Chinese and Russian companies in many oil fields, including Majnoon and West Qurna.
