{Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Electricity confirmed today, Friday, the support of investment and Iraqi national capital to work in the distribution sector, provided that the service provided is worthy of citizens.
The media of the Ministry of Electricity stated in a statement that {Euphrates News} received a copy of it, that "following the visit of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity for Production Affairs one day before to the Karrada area, east of the capital, Baghdad, and his touring there and meeting with a number of citizens and listening to the problems related to the electricity sector, the hours of processing and the status of the network On Thursday, the Undersecretary of the Ministry (on behalf of the Minister) Adel Karim held an expanded meeting at the Ministry’s headquarters in the presence of the Director General of the General Company for Baghdad Electricity Distribution, Eng. , and representatives of Nakheel Middle East Company to whom the service and collection contract for the Karrada districts and shops was transferred
The agent reviewed the problems in the Karrada area and the citizens’ need for a continuous and non-vibrating electric current, in addition to the fact that there are some shops that need to rehabilitate the old and worn out network and its inability to continue processing, as well as following up on power transformers and replacing damaged ones, removing bottlenecks and strengthening the entire distribution networks, in addition To open special centers to receive citizens' complaints to the people of the region, because the Karrada area is a large commercial center in the capital, Baghdad."
And the agent instructed the concerned company, after listening to what they put forward, to carry out their tasks entrusted to them, and to take into account the commitment to the paragraphs of the concluded contract, and otherwise the company is considered to be in breach of its obligations, which is one of the obligations of rescinding the contract between the two parties.
He explained, "We support investment and Iraqi national capitals to push the wheel of advancing the services sector, including electricity, provided that the service provided is worthy of citizens."
He also listened to what was put forward by the Director General of the General Company for Electricity Distribution of Baghdad, and directed that there should be accountability for the supplied, received and collected energy, as well as the formation of committees that would follow up on service contracts and collection, and specifically to address the failures that occurred between the investing company and Baghdad Electricity.
