A spokesman for the Ministry of Industry, Mortada Al-Safi, said in a press interview, "The Industrial Cities Authority of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals is the authority responsible for implementing industrial cities projects and undertakes many tasks regarding everything related to the establishment of cities and industrial complexes and facilitating and simplifying all procedures that serve the investor or developer with all Ministries and related institutions.
He added that "the ministry was able to make progress in the implementation of the industrial city in Dhi Qar governorate, in addition to achieving varying completion rates for the cities of Basra and Anbar, as the percentage of completion of the industrial city in Dhi Qar governorate reached (98 percent), and all paragraphs of contracts (first and second phases) were completed. ".
And he indicated that "the industrial city in Dhi Qar consists of four industrial areas, two for light industries and two for medium industries, and it has been equipped with all the services and infrastructure necessary to make it a model industrial city and to be attractive to local and foreign investment."
Al-Safi explained that "the completion rate of the first phase of the industrial city in Anbar on an area of 3000 acres has reached more than (65%), and the project will be fully completed if financial allocations are available," noting that "Al-Anbar Governorate enjoys many investment advantages and privileges offered to investors." .
He continued, "There are also varying percentages of achievement in the industrial cities of Basra and Nineveh, in addition to continuing procedures to establish other industrial cities in the governorates of Najaf, Holy Karbala, Salah al-Din, Maysan and Diwaniyah, where the Industrial Cities Authority looks forward to establishing industrial cities in all governorates of Iraq and establishing industrial projects. New and promising ones that contribute to the development and revitalization of the Iraqi industry, creating job opportunities and strengthening the national economy.
And he indicated that "the Minister of Industry discussed activating the industrial cities in both Babil and Wasit, as the industrial city in Babil has been suspended for many years, and directed to proceed with the procedures for offering it for investment, in addition to the industrial city in Badra and Zurbatiyah in Wasit Governorate, where he directed that it be completed urgently."
