{Local: Al Furat News} The head of the Standardization and Quality Control Authority of the Ministry of Planning, Hussein Ali Daoud, confirmed that the device does not have the authority to allow or prevent the entry of goods into the country, while revealing the absence of coordination between Baghdad and Erbil regarding the examination of goods.
Daoud said in a press statement, "This is within the prerogatives of the Customs Authority, the Ministry of Commerce and the Council of Ministers, given that the first two entities are the ones that grant import licenses."
He added, "There is still no agreement between Baghdad and Erbil regarding the unification of procedures and customs fees, and there is no coordination between the federal and regional authorities regarding customs, border crossings and quality control."
Daoud revealed that there is "high coordination with the General Company for Iraqi Fairs and Commercial Services in order to find a formula for an agreement to approve import licenses issued before the entry into force of Cabinet Resolution No. (13) of 2019.
