    Harb told Al-Furat News that "the constitution did not address the transformation of the government's tasks into a caretaker, but the end of Parliament makes it imperative for the government to be a caretaker government."
    He explained, "As long as Parliament ends, the government must be a caretaker government, so it must be a caretaker from the date of dissolving the House of Representatives on October 7 next."
    Harb stressed, "The issue has been decided on the date of the poll, and the government has no role in the elections except to encourage and urge citizens to participate, as all matters are constitutionally within the competence of the Electoral Commission."
    He pointed out that "the government did not address major issues during the conduct of business, with the exception of small ones."
    The House of Representatives voted in April 2021 to dissolve itself on October 7, in preparation for early elections three days later.
    Article 64 of the Iraqi constitution states that “the parliament has the power to dissolve itself at the request of one-third of its members, or from the prime minister with the approval of the president of the republic. After dissolving parliament, the president of the republic calls for general elections in the country within a maximum period of 60 days. The government prepares In this case, she is resigning, and she is only doing business.”
    Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held on October 10, with the participation of 3,249 candidates, including 951 women, 789 of whom are individual candidates, 1,501 candidates for parties, and 959 for alliances.
    The number of coalitions participating in the elections reached 21, and the number of parties was 109.
