    The Border Ports Authority announced, on Wednesday, its success in thwarting many smuggling, fraud, manipulation and waste of public money.

    The authority said in a statement that “Nass” received a copy of it, (October 6, 2021), that “in implementation of what was stated in the directives of the Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, and under the direct supervision of Major General Omar Al-Waeli, the quality control operations succeeded, achieving revenues that match the volume of imports and combating corruption and smuggling.” In all its forms, the efforts of the Border Ports Authority, represented in the supervision, control, follow-up and audit of the work of the working departments and all goods and travelers arriving in the country, have paid off.  
    The statement added, "The results and statistics achieved during the month of September were (86) referrals that included (seizure, destruction and reissue) with the efforts of the authority and high-level coordination with the relevant authorities and in the context of exchanging security and intelligence information received by it."  
    The authority explained that it "interrupted the schemes of the weak-willed and was able to seize (63) consignments that varied between containers coming through the sea ports, trucks and refrigerators through the land ports with its own efforts and sources, in addition to the information received from the National Intelligence Service and the Intelligence and Licensing Division, as well as (foodstuffs, medical supplies and toys). Children and labeled packaging) in violation of the conditions and controls of storage and import by (10) consignments, and reissue (11) consignments that did not meet the fundamental approvals to allow them to enter the country.  
    In another context, the authority confirmed "its continued support for the health reality to confront the Corona pandemic, by facilitating the task of entering medical aid and human vaccines, in addition to facilitating the procedures for entering tanks loaded with liquid medical oxygen gas."
