    The Minister of Water Resources, Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, confirmed that the continuous visits with Turkey have yielded positive results, including the entry into force of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2009, and one of its most important provisions is to give Iraq a fair share of water.     He added, "The ministry, through the Foreign Ministry and the three presidencies, demanded to file an official complaint in the International Court against Iran in order for it to respond and release Iraq's share of water."
    Regarding Iraq’s participation in (Cairo Water Week), Al-Hamdani explained that “Iraq is keen to participate in this week, which is currently being held in Cairo, as it is a major international forum that discusses important issues, especially climate changes that have occurred worldwide, the lack of fresh water, and the effects of these changes in all areas.” joints of life.
    He added, "Our participation in this forum is an Iraqi message of concern regarding water, and there are bilateral meetings that the delegation will hold, especially with the Egyptian side, with whom we have great relations. major in this field.
    He pointed out that "the conference is an opportunity to learn about modern technologies that confront climate changes, as well as to present a workshop at the conference to clarify the climatic changes that affected Iraq, which was subjected to drought like some countries, and we will present the mechanism and research that we are doing in order to overcome this problem."
    Meanwhile, technical advisor to the Ministry of Water Resources, Aoun Diab, said that "the talks with Turkey reached the signing of a joint understanding paper regarding Iraq's water quota, which was approved by the Turkish government and entered into force."
    Diab indicated that "this understanding lays the foundations for creating a basic relationship for the continuation of technical discussions and the determination of fair and reasonable shares of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers for Iraq."
