National Security Adviser Qassem al-Araji renewed the Iraqi government's keenness to implement the parliament's decision to withdraw foreign combat forces at the end of this year.
Al-Araji stressed, during his meeting with the commander of the NATO mission in Iraq, Michael Anker, that the government intends to implement the outcomes of the strategic dialogue with the United States, and indicated that the Iraqi forces possess the capabilities to defeat terrorism, stressing that cooperation with the NATO mission is in the areas of training, capacity-building and providing advice to the organs Security and military academies.
