     Baghdad: Omar Abdul Latif

It is no closer than the picture of our Iraqi political reality, its characters and its masses, than the play “Weird” by the Syrian star Duraid Lahham. Today, the scene is no different, as the Iraqi political blocs insist on moving forward under the banner of “we are all in the government, we are all in the opposition,” despite its great danger to the country’s future.
Anticipating the birth of what is known as the opposition in the next parliament is just a “lie,” according to what analysts and experts believe in political affairs. Professor of political science, Dr. Ahmed Rahim, told “Al-Sabah”: “The political blocs since 2003 until now do not want to be in the opposition, although they She is present, her voice is not audible.” Referring to the map of the upcoming parliament and government, Rahim believes that “the opposition that may form from some political blocs will be basically (negative) because it will work to bring down the party that formed the government in any way, which hinders the work of the executive authority,” noting that “the majority government The other is a big (lie) that cannot be realized, because the prime minister is usually subject to the consensus of the parties and is not chosen by the winning party only, as happens in the countries of the world.
As for the expert in international political affairs, Dr. Haitham Abdel Rahim Al-Mayahi, he said in his interview with Al-Sabah: “The independents have an opportunity to take the role of the opposition so that the government is equal in the parliament. There are 220 new faces in the upcoming parliament, and there is a golden opportunity to build a positive opposition foundation. It builds the system and does not work to destroy it, it fights corruption and does not help cover up the most serious issues.”
Until then, the French proverb continues: "Defeat is an orphan... and victory has a thousand fathers."
