“The prime minister has an exclusive right for al-Sadr.” “Al-Hanana” announces the “largest bloc”: this is its number and its many
Shafaq News/ A source close to the headquarters of the leader of the Sadrist movement in "Al-Hanana" revealed that the Sadrist bloc's seats had risen to more than 80 parliamentary seats, as a result of the alliances, indicating that the formation of the largest bloc is near completion.
The source told Shafak News Agency; "The Sadrist bloc has completed its negotiating dialogues with the parties close to it, which contributed to the movement's obtaining more than 10 seats, in addition to the 74 seats revealed by the election results."
The source added; The Sadrist bloc will announce in the first session of the House of Representatives its formation of the largest bloc after joining a seat from Wasit Governorate, along with two seats from Basra, affiliated with the Tasmeem alliance led by Governor Asaad Al-Eidani, as well as a seat from Nineveh Governorate, along with a number of independent representatives who also expressed their desire to enter into an alliance With the Sadrist bloc, which increased the seats of the bloc, whose number now exceeds (85) seats in a preliminary form, and the number may increase to more than that soon in the event that parties join what is known as the coordinating framework.
And he added, "The aforementioned number doubles after the official announcement of the alliance with the (Progress) party led by Muhammad al-Halbousi, which has approximately (40) seats, along with the Kurdistan Democratic Party led by Masoud Barzani with (31) seats, and some deputies who belong to small lists will join the Sadrist bloc." He pointed out that "until the date of the first session, the Sadrist movement will announce its largest bloc."
And he added, "The doors are open to all the forces wishing to enter with the current in a strategic alliance that serves the political process and establishes the pillars of the strong state."
He pointed out that "the issue of naming a candidate to head the government remains subject to Mr. Al-Sadr exclusively, and he will be revealed at the appropriate time."
The Sadrist bloc participated in the parliamentary elections with more than 100 candidates who won, 74 of whom won. The Sadrist bloc seeks to form a strong majority government capable of implementing the national government program proposed by al-Sadr.
Al-Sadr and the Shiite coordination framework held two separate meetings; The first in Baghdad resulted in breaking the deadlock in the relationship between the coordinating framework forces and the leader of the Sadrist movement. The second was held in Al-Hanana, Sadr’s residence, with a delegation representing the framework led by Hadi al-Amiri and the membership of the leader of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq movement, Qais Khazali, as well as the official of the Popular Mobilization Authority.
The meeting did not come out with agreements between the two parties except for reconciliation between (Al-Sadr and Khazali) after a rupture that lasted for several years.
The framework sees the conditions of al-Sadr (merging the Popular Mobilization Forces with the security institutions), limiting arms to the state, forming a majority government, not a consensual government based on electoral merit, not party, as a deliberate impotence to force the framework to abandon their demands and accept the majority government.
