    Shortly after the announcement of the presentation of Ahmed Al-Asadi as a candidate from the coordination framework for the position of the first deputy in the presidency of the parliament, the framework returned to issue a statement of denial following the objection of parties within the framework.

    A parliamentary source told "Nass" (January 9, 2022), that "some parties within the framework announced the name of al-Asadi as a candidate for the position, according to an official statement published by the media of the coordination framework and al-Asadi's office."  
    The statement stated that there was "a consensus between the coordination framework and the other blocs, that the first deputy speaker of the House of Representatives be the representative of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Ahmed Al-Asadi."  
    The statement angered the State of Law coalition, according to the source, as Hisham al-Rikabi, a spokesman for the coalition leader, Nuri al-Maliki, denied submitting a candidate for the framework, before issuing a denial in the name of the coordination framework.  
    The statement stated, "There is no truth to what was reported in some media outlets about presenting the coordination framework as a candidate for the position of the first deputy of the House of Representatives."  
    The dispute is added to a long list, the most prominent of which revolves around the largest bloc, which prompted the postponement of the date of the first session until Saturday afternoon.
