The representative of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Majid Shankali, said, "The stage of selecting the Presidency of the House of Representatives has been skipped and we have entered the second stage, which is the Presidency of the Republic," noting that "the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) candidate for the Presidency of the Republic is strong and will pass as the Presidency of the House of Representatives passed." .
He added, "The position of the President of the Republic is not partisan, but belongs to the Kurdish component, and there must be consensus among the Kurds to come out with one candidate," noting that "in the event that the 2018 scenario is repeated, our candidate Hoshyar Zebari will pass with ease."
