, a leader in the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Mahmoud Khoshnaw, confirmed, on Thursday, the existence of an upcoming meeting between the Union and the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
In an interview with Mawazine News, Khoshnaw said, "The meeting will address the file of the Presidency of the Republic and Kurdish-Kurdish relations."
Khoshnaw added, "We cannot predict the outcome of the meeting and its outcomes will be considered."
Yesterday, Tuesday, the leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ghiath Al-Sorji, revealed the existence of a complete political "rupture" with the Democratic Party.
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan adheres to the nomination of the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, for a second term, while the Democrat insists on the nomination of Hoshyar Zebari for the position.
A few days ago, the Federal Supreme Court decided to stop the procedures for the candidacy of Zebari, by the Kurdistan Democratic Party, for the position of President of the Republic of Iraq "temporarily".
The Federal Court has set, next Sunday, the date for pleading the case against accepting the election of Hoshyar Zebari for the presidency. Ended 29/N33
