The Association of Private Banks announced, on Tuesday, that the banking sector was subjected to a "major attack", while noting that "blackmail" parties were behind it.

The association said in a statement that "Nass" received a copy of it (February 22, 2022), "The Association of Iraqi Private Banks calls on the media not to circulate or publish any information about the banking sector that is incorrect, calling for the need to obtain information from real sources and not to rely on Unreliable parties."
And she added, "During the past days, some media outlets have circulated absolutely incorrect news about the banking sector, which affects the citizens' confidence in these banks," noting that "the banking sector is under attack from some malicious parties that want to blackmail it and achieve special goals, and thus negatively affect the country's economy.
And she continued, "The news that the Central Bank is laying hands on some banks is incorrect, warning against taking legal measures against those who publish news contrary to the truth."
