    Information/translation.
A report by the Turkish Ahwal newspaper revealed that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's meeting with Iraqi Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi, who is accompanied by Khamis al-Khanjar, head of the Azm Alliance, reveals the size of the role of Turkish intelligence in Iraq.
The report, which was translated by the "Information" agency, stated that "the meeting held between the two sides and in the presence of the former Turkish intelligence chief confirmed the interest that Ankara attaches to relations with the Sunni political camp in Iraq."
He added, "The meeting session showed by chance that the Iraqi Sunni file is in the hands of the Turkish intelligence, and that the closed meeting in Istanbul was attended by the head of the Turkish intelligence service, Hakan Fidan, and despite the lack of details provided by the Turkish presidency about the content of the meeting, a statement by Al-Halbousi's office indicated that it dealt with "cooperation in Exchange of security and intelligence information.
And he added, "Although intelligence cooperation is not within the powers of the Iraqi parliament speaker, there was an attempt to justify the presence of Fidan, while the meeting left the head of the Azm Khamis al-Khanjar coalition in a sensitive position, as he did not explain the reason for attending such a high-level meeting in the presence of the head of Turkish intelligence."
He explained that "Anadolu Agency sent a corrected copy of its report on the closed meeting, where the reference to the dagger was removed. However, he still appears in the official photo of the four men in the report.
And he indicated that "although the relations between Turkey and the Sunni political actors in Iraq are not a secret, the Iraqi Sunni parties have been keen to place their contacts with Turkish interlocutors in a political and diplomatic context and not to link Iraqi politicians with Turkish intelligence."
He noted that "Hakan Fidan is one of the closest aides to the Turkish president. Erdogan assigns him all sensitive political and security issues in Turkey and the region, in addition to monitoring the activities of Turkish communities abroad.” finished/ 25 z
