Member of the Unified Anbar Alliance, Mohammed al-Dulaimi, revealed today, Friday, that the President of the Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, met with the head of the Sovereignty Alliance, Khamis al-Khanjar, in Erbil to decide on the position of Parliament Speaker.
Al-Dulaimi told Al-Maalouma Agency, "The head of the Progress Party, the former dismissed Speaker of Parliament, Mohammed al-Halbousi, refused to join the meeting, indicating that Barzani failed to bring their views closer together and agree on one candidate for the Speaker of Parliament."
He added, "Barzani failed to convince Halbousi to attend the meeting, and was content to confirm his adherence to the position." End / 12A
